Education Outreach
The Division of Soil and Water Conservation, along with the Association and the 96 local Soil and Water Conservation districts, endorses and orchestrates numerous outreach programs to educate and recognize exemplary natural resource stewardship and environmental management. Public conservation awards, school contests and workshops are used as avenues to train-the-trainer as well as teach upcoming generations of children. The interests of the local district board and the unique talents and experience of district staff drive each event. In 2008, tens of thousands of students and adults participated in the following events:
