RALEIGH — The N.C. Division of Coastal Management has set up a toll-free hotline for property owners with questions about rebuilding following Hurricane Floyd.
The number is 1-888-472-6278, or 1-888-4RCOAST.
Division staff can provide basic information about rebuilding, including contact numbers and locations for applying for permits. Property owners should not begin rebuilding until they get Coastal Management authorization.
Staff cannot provide damage information. Property owners seeking information about damage should contact the emergency management office in the county where their property is located.
Coastal Management’s Web site also includes information about rebuilding following a hurricane. The address is http://dcm2.enr.state.nc.us. Go to the storms section, then click on the button marked "Rebuilding."
