RALEIGH -- The following is a list of North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources (NCDENR) agencies that are affected and/or will be directly related to clean-up efforts in the wake of Hurricane Bonnie. North Carolina Aquariums at Roanoke Island (Manteo), Pine Knoll Shores (Atlantic Beach) Fort Fisher (Wilmington) - Houses aquatic exhibits and animals - marine educational resource; assists in recovery of aquatic plants and animals that may be displaced after the storm.

North Carolina Division of Coastal Management - Regulates development in the 20 coastal counties. Determines whether property owners can rebuild following storms and helps property owners with permit applications.

North Carolina Division of Environmental Health- Assists in ensuring public water supply is safe to use; addresses other health and safety issues which may be of special concern after a storm, such as sanitation.

North Carolina Division of Forest Management - Assists with tree clearing from public roads and right of ways; assesses damage to forest resources and responds to fire danger in the aftermath of downed trees and other forest debris.

North Carolina Division of Land Resources - Regulates dams and conducts safety inspections to ensure the integrity of the structures. Also regulates sedimentation and erosion from construction sites.
