New Web Site Features North Carolina's State-Owned Natural Resource Attractions

RALEIGH -

In preparation for the July 4 holiday, the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources has launched a new, comprehensive web site featuring the outdoor and environmental education facilities managed by the agency.

The web site, accessible at http://www.enr.state.nc.us/attractions/, provides one, single location where North Carolinians and our guests can find information about state parks, educational state forests, coastal reserve sites, the Zoological Park, the three state aquariums and the new Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh.

"In the past, people interested in learning more about outdoor recreational opportunities and our facilities had to go to individual web sites," Don Reuter, the agency's public affairs director, said. "Now people can identify places to go in geographic locations across the state. We anticipate the new site will greatly enhance trip planning and access to information about North Carolina's diverse natural resources."
