N.C. Zoo Seeking Volunteer Educators for Streamside Exhibit

ASHEBORO--The North Carolina Zoo needs volunteers to help teach visitors about life in and along our state’s streams and rivers.

Recruits will be trained to provide informal, educational programs for visitors in the zoo’s Streamside Exhibit, which features fish, snakes, frogs, otters and other North Carolina river creatures. Applicants should be at least 18 years old, have the ability to communicate with people of all ages and an interest in plant and wildlife conservation.

Training programs are scheduled on Wednesdays, May 3, 10, and 17 from 9 a.m. to noon in the zoo’s W. David Stedman Education Center. For more information or to register for the program, call the Zoo Volunteer Office at (336) 879-7712.

The zoo is an agency of the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
