N.C. Zoo Seeking Volunteer Educators for Streamside Exhibit
ASHEBORO--The North Carolina Zoo needs volunteers to help teach
visitors about life in and along our state’s streams and rivers.
Recruits will be trained to provide informal, educational programs
for visitors in the zoo’s Streamside Exhibit, which features fish,
snakes, frogs, otters and other North Carolina river creatures.
Applicants should be at least 18 years old, have the ability to
communicate with people of all ages and an interest in plant and
wildlife conservation.
Training programs are scheduled on Wednesdays, May 3, 10, and 17
from 9 a.m. to noon in the zoo’s W. David Stedman Education Center. For
more information or to register for the program, call the Zoo Volunteer
Office at (336) 879-7712.
The zoo is an agency of the N.C. Department of Environment and
Natural Resources.
